School of the Ranger is an unique training opportunity , held annually at Fort Frederick, Maryland. Participates are assigned to a squad and live in an 18th century barrack. As part of the garrison, various duties such and wood details, fire watch, and other support functions can be expected. Each squad will be issued rations which they shall prepare themselves.
The course may cover a variety of topics which can include formal instruction, wood & field craft, compass & mapping, as well as woodland patrol, field problems and small unit battle tactics.
As this is a winter event, you can expect conditions which will test you equipment, skills and personal endurance in a truly 18th century environment.
